PET-FRIENDLY "Do Not Disturb" Door Sign

If you stay in a pet-friendly motel/hotel with your cat or dog, how do you ensure the staff is aware of your pet’s presence?

Travel experts highly-recommend that when you and your pet stay in a pet-friendly hotel/motel to hang a “do not disturb” sign on your guestroom door to alert staff so they don’t inadvertently or accidentally let your pet out when they enter to clean the room. Yet the “do not disturb” signs that hotels/motels supply are generic and do not specifically indicate that a pet also is sharing the room.

That’s why the pet-friendly “do not disturb” door sign created by
Susan Bard Hall is so purr-fect. One side reads, DO NOT DISTURB...PRECIOUS PET INSIDE, while the reverse side reads, PLEASE FRESHEN ROOM BUT ENTER WITH CARE...PRECIOUS PET INSIDE.

“It is imperative for the safety of all concerned that a pet’s presence in the guestroom be known before hotel/motel staff enter,” Hall said. “This unique, pet-friendly, ‘do not disturb’ door sign is an obvious and high-quality way to convey this message.”

“Even when hotels/motels do a commendable job of communicating with their staff that a pet is present, the door sign serves as a helpful, welcome reminder,” Hall added.
