Seasonal packages are thoughtfully-created. We chose the Lighthouse Package, which included passes to the White River Light Station Museum; ice cream cones from Pekadill's; a dinner certificate to Crosswinds; plus other goodies. We enjoyed Crosswinds on White Lake so much, we dined there both evenings. We also recommend Pinhead's for lunch (they also serve dinner); dining on the deck guarantees a water view. Even if your idea of the purr-fect weekend doesn't include shopping, a visit to Pitkins is a must. It aptly bills itself as an "unbelievable drugstore;" I could have, and should have, done all of my holiday shopping there. And if you're a Cat's Meow collector, you'll find a White Swan Inn keepsake at the Corner House of Gifts. It's also available by special arrangement at White Swan's own intimate gift shop. If you're looking for a getaway where you'll get away from the typical tourist trappings, then Whitehall and the White Swan Inn are the purr-fect place! White Swan Inn B&B 231-894-5169
