No Mistake About It

Lisa Perry adds to her multicat household in Florida by being a foster parent for the Humane Society of Sarasota County. One day her boss mentioned having made a faux pas, which gave Lisa an idea for her license plate: FO-PAWS.

Teri Leineke of Utah is the proud mother of three “kitties.” In 1989, she adopted Hollywood, a shaded silver Persian. The next year, Malibu, a silver Chinchilla, joined the family.

“Last year, we decided to have a human baby, and we named her Kitty in honor of her two big brothers,” Teri said. “It is therefore no surprise that my license plate reads MEOWMOM.”

Carol Latrella of North Carolina said she requested WHISKERS for her license plate because she is a cat lover. Since she has received the vanity plate, she has acquired three cats.

The Message Is Clear

For more than 10 years, Barbara and Richard Shand of California have been rescuing abandoned cats. They currently share their hearts and home with 27 cats. The license plates on their van read MEOWPWR.

Diane Washburn of Wisconsin said her daughter Wendy’s license plate, FXYRPET (Fix Your Pet), needs no explanation.

Tom Moritz said SPAY 1 identifies the vehicle used by the Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter, a nonprofit shelter in New Jersey. “We hope it helps convey an important message to all pet owners,” Tom said.

Mary Krantz of Kansas said that 13 years ago, she put SAVAPET on her car’s plates because she believes in saving as many animals as possible. “I want people to know how I feel so that maybe they will try and help animals,” Mary said. She has adopted five homeless cats, including two with handicaps.

Mary also wanted a message about animals for the car she acquired last year. LOVAPET expresses her feelings that helping an animal is one of life’s greatest joys.
