| Unlike a country club with a membership base, Oak Brook Hills is a public/resort course with a changing clientele. First-time golfers on the course are unaware that Jenna is the resorts four-legged staff member. Hence the questions about the dog running around. But Jenna is certainly not starved for affection. She receives attention from adoring employees and has become quite the conversation piece among hotel guests. Blatteau also gets more than the occasional request from the hotel concierge to shuttle guests in the golf cart to meet Jenna. Or vice versa. Most people like animals, Blatteau said. Having her around is something different. Shes definitely been an ice breaker. After less than a year on the job, its hard to imagine a time when Jenna wasnt part of the Oak Brook Hills Hotel & Resort family. Jenna has received high marks from her supervisors and praise from her peers. The word is, shes a keeper. Shes the best solution for the geese problem of everything Ive seen in my 15 years in the Chicago area, Blatteau said. Copyright © 1998 by Susan Bard Hall. All rights reserved.
